When you have issues with the sound or audio on your Windows 10 PC, you should run the built-in sound troubleshooter first. The troubleshooter automatically scans and fixes most of the issues. If the troubleshooter fails to detect the issue, you can try fixing the issue by reinstalling the audio driver.
- In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers. If there is a speaker icon next to the sound driver, the driver is installed. If there is a yellow question mark next to the sound driver, the driver is not present or will not load. Go to Next step to reload the current sound driver and test for sound. Step 2: Reload.
- May 23, 2018 Drivers are pieces of software that help an item (e.g., a webcam) work with your computer. Most items will install drivers automatically when connected to your computer, but if the item's drivers aren't properly updated, the item may not work correctly.
Reinstall Windows 10 audio driver from Device Manager. Step 1: Right-click on the Start button in the taskbar area and then click Device Manager to open the same. Step 2: In the Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
